Q&A

Straight answers.

Do I have to pay to read reviews I wrote myself?

No. Your own reviews stay open to you on a free account, for as long as your account is open. Reviews can’t be edited after they’re submitted — that’s part of what keeps the data honest — so if you spot a mistake in something you entered, contact us and we’ll correct it. Membership is for reading what everyone else submitted, pooled and scored.

How do I know the reviews are real?

Every artist on the platform is verified as a working artist before their reviews count, and every review is read and checked by a real person before it enters the data. Unverified reviews are never rewarded and never included in the aggregate numbers. It’s slow, and it’s the only reason the numbers mean anything.

Why can’t just anyone buy membership?

Membership is limited to verified artists. Artists write these reviews for each other — not for show organizers shopping their competitors’ data. Keeping membership verified keeps the reviews honest and keeps the community safe to be candid in. Organizers aren’t shut out — organizer accounts, coming soon, will see only their own show’s information.

Do I have to be verified before I can join?

No — you can join the moment you sign up. We verify every new member in the background, usually within 48 hours, using the artist website and social links from your profile. If we can’t confirm you’re a working artist, we’ll reach out and ask for your help. Membership stays artist-only, so accounts we can’t verify are refunded and closed.

Why does credit stop at $150?

Writing reviews covers what it costs us to collect and verify the data — that’s real work, and contributing is how you pay for it. What it doesn’t cover is building and running everything else: the planners, the show data, the site itself. That’s there whether ten reviews come in this month or a thousand.

So credit takes you to $150, not to zero.

What if I don’t want to write reviews at all?

Then you pay the full $300 and never write a word. That’s a legitimate choice and it’s how plenty of people will use it. What you’re paying for in that case is us going and getting the data instead of you helping produce it.

How much credit can I build up?

Choose credit as your reward when you finish a review and it earns $20 at the early-access rate, once verified. Credit applies to your membership up to $150 a year — anything beyond that stays in your credit wallet and never expires.

What counts as a show I can review?

Juried fine art shows, fairs and festivals where you were required to attend and actively sell from a booth. We don’t list buy-sell events, and we don’t list exhibitions where the artist isn’t present to sell.

Worked a show that isn’t in the directory yet? Request it and we’ll look into it — if it fits, we’ll add it and let you know so you can write your review.

Are my reviews anonymous?

Yes. Your name is never attached to a review anywhere on the platform — not to other artists, and not to show organizers. We verify who you are so the data can be trusted; we keep you anonymous so you can be honest.

Can I see something before I pay?

The full show directory is open on a free account — dates, deadlines, locations, and application links for every show. What’s behind membership is the verified artist reporting layered on top of it.
